Meet Lou

Nestled in the heart of Pittsburgh, Lou's passion for cooking ignited amidst the age-old traditions of Greece, a legacy passed down through generations. This ancestral voice and Lou's personal touch transformed Getaway Catering into a hallmark of culinary brilliance in the city. 

For 23 cherished years, Lou and Nancy owned and operated the beloved Getaway Cafe, which was an emblem of warmth in the south hills of Pittsburgh. As the Cafe's chapter concluded, the unwavering dedication to quality and detail gave birth to Getaway Catering. Lou was not ready to hang up his apron; instead, he decided to take the Cafe's legacy forward, now emphasizing farm-to-table sustainability. 

Beyond his culinary achievements, Lou is a loving father to five successful, beautiful daughters and a devoted husband, celebrating 41 years of marriage with his rock, Nancy. 

Outside the realms of his kitchen, Lou relishes golfing, traveling, and creating memories with his daughters and adoring grandchildren. The love and commitment he shows in his personal life mirror the dedication he pours into every dish. 

From a mere spark of passion to a full-blown labor of love, Getaway Catering is not just about food; it's the very essence of Lou.
